Assistance to Victims of Crime
As the victim of a crime, you are entitled to some
form of compensation for your financial loss as a direct result of a
criminal act. There are a few ways to be compensated:
Restitution
If an offender has been
charged with a criminal offense the Judge can order him/her to
reimburse the victim for their financial losses as
the direct result of the crime.

Victim Compensation Assistance Program
(VCAP)
is administered by the
Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency. VCAP covers any
unreimbursed:
- Medical
- Counseling
- Loss of Earnings
- Loss of Support
- Stolen Benefit Cash
- Relocation
- Funeral
- Crime Scene Clean-up
